Annual Events
Gladstone has a tradition of recurring annual events, some hosted by the City of Gladstone, and some hosted by community organizations. Many of these annual events are on hold during the pandemic, but will hopefully return soon!

Formerly Chautauqua, the Gladstone Community Festival is a three day festival held every summer by the Gladstone/Oak Lodge Rotary. Featuring a parade and a broad range of events for adults and kids, this is *THE* community event of the year.
Gladstone Community Festival is held on the first weekend in August at Max Patterson Park and includes:
-
Movie in the Park
-
Parade
-
Live Music
-
Beer Garden
-
Children's Activities
-
Pickleball Tournament
-
Food Vendors and much more!
Gladstone Community Festival has its roots in the Chautauqua movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. At that time, Gladstone was home to the nation's third largest Chautauqua event, featuring famous speakers like William Jennings Bryant and John Philip Sousa.

Halloween
Gladstone is an awesome place to celebrate Halloween. Bring your kids to "Halloween on Portland Ave" or the trunk or treat event held by the Gladstone Christian Church (especially awesome for younger kids).
Santa's Ride through Gladstone
Each year, Santa rides a Seagrave through the streets of Gladstone, greeting kids and collecting food and unwrapped toys for families. Routes and dates are posted each year on Santa's Facebook (who knew he was so tech savvy!)
Easter Egg Hunt
Annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the City of Gladstone.
A Walk and Run event held every August, the SHOC Run benefits the SHOC Foundation's mission by funding ovarian cancer research, awareness, and support for survivors.
